my name is Dimitrios Koutras, I represent a start up company, developing UGVs. We bought a SIYI A2 mini camera in order to start using it in our robots. We want to connect it via ethernet directly to a router we have on board the robots and access it in order to play video via rtsp link. We were already successful in doing so with other cameras.
We connected the Rx- to Rx-, Rx+ to Rx+, Tx- to Tx- and Tx+ to Tx+ (SIYI A2 to Ethernet cable). However, when we power the camera (12V dc supply) nothing happens (no led, no movement) and the led on the router also does not blink (that means that no data are transmitted).
Do you thing that we can achieve the connection we described? Is there anything else wrong?
Thank you for your pictures. Were you able to connect in the end?
I also plan to do same connection. May be need to cross the TX and RX lines when connecting to a PC?
That is, which of the two options is correct:
Option A (straight): SIYI RX+ → Ethernet RX+, SIYI RX- → Ethernet RX-, SIYI TX+ → Ethernet TX+, SIYI TX- → Ethernet TX-.
Option B (crossed): SIYI RX+ → Ethernet TX+, SIYI TX+ → Ethernet RX+, SIYI RX- → Ethernet TX-, SIYI TX- → Ethernet RX-??
Does the Siyi A2 camera itself support Auto-MDIX (cable type detection)? Or is it necessary to crossover and re-solder the contacts?
