Is updating system packages on Unitree Go2 safe?

Hi! I have a Unitree Go2 EDU version and I have a question regarding managing the system running on Jetson Module. Is sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade safe on the Go2?

To my knowledge this should not break the system or ROS2 packages. However, I am not sure if it will affect or break the NVIDIA Jetson Orin packages or not.

Also, is it possible for you provide a link for the stock system image of the Orin system? Unitree shares the latest image for nx but not for the nano version of the Jetson module. This would be helpful for us to be able to go back to the stock mode in case anything breaks.

Best, Amir

Hi,

sudo apt update is fine, however, sudo apt upgrade will break system packages and you should not do it. You can upgrade the individual modules but not the kernel of the jetson board or any of its core modules.

This is available in the unitree documentation page. The link url keeps changing so you can just scroll through the go2 site and you will find it.
