Force controlled linear actuator?

Hello guys,
I am looking for force controlled linear actuators like those : orca actuators, but more in a “diy” way, have you ever heard of project involving this type of actuators and if there were any work done in the open source community ?

I’d like them to be electricity based rather than pneumatic or hydraulic and capable of ~300 N to give you an idea

Thank you and have a nice day !

Hi @yaxlei,

thanks for your topic.

I am not aware of any open source community project, but having two ideas/solutions for your project

  1. Using the iR Robot Force Control Linear Actuator: MightyZAP 90mm Force Control Version | MYBOTSHOP.DE, 304,95 € These actuators can be daisy chained and there are several length available: 27mm stroke up to 90mm (but not more) and a lot of accessories: iRROBOT MightyZAP Linear Servomotoren | MYBOTSHOP.DE

  2. Using a DYNAMIXEL: ROBOTIS DYNAMIXEL X-Series Smart Aktor | MYBOTSHOP.DE actuator which is having a force control etc. implemented and using a rod + nut as well for linear movement.

Have a nice day!
