What do you think about feeding the board with an USB 5V 2A from a power supplier such as

Anker PowerPort 6 Indoor Black mobile device charger - Mobile Device Chargers (Indoor, Universal, AC, CE, FCC, UL, Black, 100 - 240)

and connetcing the board to USB splitter Y

With the Red connector to the power supplier and the Black one to the PC running Arduino IDE and the micro connector to the board.

Hi Oscargolf,

to use a Y-Kabel should be possible.
Another solution could be the use of a active hub, with a external power supply.
